Emelec wins and remains unbeaten

On a visit to the Casa Blanca stadium, last night Emelec won 2-1 to Liga de Quito, and thus maintains its unbeaten campaign since the beginning of the national soccer tournament.

In the second half of the game, at the 49th minute, a powerful shot from Pedro Quiñonez gave the lead to Emelec, and at the 80th minute, Uruguayan Carlos Federico Puppo, tied the game with a head goal. But in a counterstrike, five minutes from the end of the game, Fernando Gaibor made the final goal.

In other games, Deportivo Quito won 3-1 to El Nacional, while Deportivo Quito drew 1-1 with Deportivo Quevedo. Barcelona plays this afternoon in Guayaquil against Independiente del Valle.
