Byron Lopez Castillo, Dr. Jorge Alvear Macias, and Leon Roldos Aguilera, attorneys that defend journalist Emilio Palacio, rejected the declarations made by the former deputy judge Enrique Pacheco.

Last Saturday, the attorneys that defend El Universo case published an article regarding the declarations made by Pacheco, who stated that he was pressured with the presentation of procedural remedies.

The newspaper attorneys also rejected the comments of Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa. He qualified them as “corrupt” and also requested the Transitional Council of the Judiciary to sanction them.

The attorneys of Emilio Palacio stated that former deputy judge Pacheco made those declarations to fall in the grace of the president in the sense that the “attorneys of El Universo have pressured him” with the presentation of procedural remedies. (AV)
