F-18 military plane crashes on Virginia Beach U.S.
This morning, the U.S. military F/A-18D jet crashed in a residential area of Virginia Beach (Virginia, east), causing a huge explosion.
Local media reported that immediately, emergency crews arrived on the scene of the accident for rescue operations.
The unit fell to 12:05 pm shortly after takeoff from Naval Air Station Oceania, located a few kilometers. Spokesmen for the Pentagon reported that the pilots pilots could eject from the plane, but their health condition still unknown. Both pilots and civilians wounded were taken to local hospital where they remain under observation.
According to emergency services, the accident caused extensive damage and six wounded but still fatalities. Tim Riley, Fire Chief Virginia Beach, announced that at present there is no information on dead, wounded or missing.
