FARC Retakes Peace Dialogue with Colombia During Army Operative
This Wednesday, the government of Colombia and the FARC guerrilla renewed their peace dialogue in La Habana, Cuba after a five-day recess that ended with the biggest offensive of the Army against the rebels since the beginnings of the negotiations to end the five-decade confrontations.
Today, a Colombian general that remains anonymous informed that last Monday, around 20 guerrilla members died during an air strike in the south highlands of the country. This is a clear demonstration that the Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos is determined to continue with military operatives despite the unilateral ceasefire announced by FARC.
“That is the Christmas present of the Government, while we persist on a bilateral ceasefire,” said the guerrilla member Jesus Carvajalino a.k.a Andres Paris to Reuters.
