Federer and Azarenka Kings of Indian Wells Masters 1000

Last Sunday, Roger Federer beat American John Isner 7-6 (9/7), 6-3, and crowned Champion of the Indian Wells Masters 1000 (California) for the fourth time.
Federer, world number three, makes a new record in this season with 22 victories and two defeats, winning his third title in the year after Rotterdam and Dubai. Thus, the Swiss became the player with the most titles in Indian Wells, beating the mark of Jimmy Connors and Michael Chang.
For its part, Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka, world number one ranking in women’s tennis, also won the crown of Indian Wells; first Masters 1,000 of the season.
Azarenka defeated Maria Sharapova in a match of one hour and 26 minutes, 6-2, 6-3. Thus, the number one record this year expands to 23 victories and no defeats joins his fourth title in 2012 after those obtained in Sydney, Australia and Doha.
