Swiss tennis player Roger Federer won yesterday 7-6, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 to Belgian Xavier Malisse and advances to the quarterfinals of the British Open.

Federer left the court after the seventh game for treatment on his back. He returned eight minutes later, after which he lost his service and was 6-5 down. However, the Swiss overcame the obstacles, beating Malisse, who is the 75th ranked in the world.

Now Federer prepares to face Russia’s Mikhail Youzhny, who beat Uzbekistan’s Denis Istomin 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, 6-7 (5/7), 7-5.
