First Anti-Wrinkle Pill Shows Results
A new dietary treatment that promises to shrink wrinkles could be big news when it is launched next month. The invention is a three-a-day capsule that uses natural food extracts to activate the genes that improve skin tone. Early results show that they could be on the right track.
If such results remain positive it could mean the first anti-wrinkle treatment that can fight-off the wrinkling from the deeper layers of skin. The gene food treatment is the work of John Casey’s team at the laboratories of Unilever Shambrook, UK, a multinational food, cosmetics and household products company.
New Scientist the British magazine writes about the results shown in 14 weeks, “crow’s feet” wrinkles by the corner of the eye were shallower on average 10 percent. Casey’s team used skin cultures and gene activity tests to learn from the effects of certain natural food extracts.
The capsules must be taken on three-day period for a three month period to see the results. However, if the person stopped taking the capsules, the normal aging process would probably restore deeper wrinkles. (AV)
