Foreign technicians will make a study of buildings in Guayaquil

Mayor of Guayaquil Jaime Nebot said yesterday that foreign technicians will support the municipality in the evaluation of structures affected by the last Saturday earthquake. They will intervene, she aid, based on a preliminary inspection made by the City Council.
Due to the telluric movement, the overpass of de las Americas Avenue, in the area of the Vicente Rocafuerte University collapsed, as well as 20 houses; in addition, 243 buildings and houses are partially damaged, according to a report by the Corporation for the Public Safety of Guayaquil (CSCG).
A building in risk is located in the Chimborazo and Cuenca streets, in the south of the city center. A molding on the third floor is cracked, of approximately 4 sqm, and yesterday, traffic on the site had to be closed.
