Former managers of the National Telecommunications Corporation are indicated in the audit report
Ecuadornews:
The concession announcements of the National Telecommunications Corporation (CNT) could be affected by the lack of audited, reconciled and validated balance sheets of recent years.
The Comptroller presented yesterday the preliminary results of an external audit conducted by the firm Morales & Asociados to the consolidated financial statements of the 2016 fiscal year.
Unlike other hearings, in which the team of auditors is its own, on this occasion there were no conclusions that necessarily refer to damages to the State, but rather to accounting inconsistencies that prevent a judgment on the real financial situation of the company.
During the reading of the draft, which lasted an hour, they pointed out, for example, unregistered deposits for $ 828 million or transfers not cataloged in the accounting for $ 418 million. The impossibility of determining assets and liabilities, their amortization and depreciation, due to the lack of documentary support was also observed.
In the conclusions it was mentioned that the managers of the 2016 fiscal year did not comply with the basic control parameters.
The hearing was attended by some 50 former workers of the CNT, who claimed to have been notified “at the last minute”. (I)
