Foxconn Will Replace Workers With Robots

The Taiwanese company, assembler of iPhone and iPad, Foxconn Technology Group, will replace one million workers by robots in the next three years because of the rising labor costs.
Terry Gou, head of the company, said the robots will be used to do simple tasks such as spraying, welding and assembling, things that mainly done by employees.
Foxconn is already using 10,000 robots and will add 290,000 next year. By 2014, the company expects to reach one million. Foxconn currently has 1.2 million workers and it is one of the largest computer component manufacturers in the world, it assembles products for various tech companies such as Apple, Sony and HP.
