Francis Pope didn’t attend to concert and avoid the luxuries
As a sign of rejection of the luxurious life of the Vatican, Pope Francis decided not to attend to a classical music concert organized before his election in March, to celebrates the Year of Faith.
An archbishop close to the Vatican informed the crowd of cardinals and Italian dignitaries just before the concert started that Pope Francis couldn’t make it due to “commitments that could not be postponed.” He did not elaborate.
The bishops, who were disoriented, realized that pope Francis’ message, was that the Church is in crisis and that both he and the prelates had too much pastoral work to do, to attend social events.
Pope Francis was at his home in Santa Marta at the Vatican. Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said the pontiff has confirmed his commitments for the following days.
