Francis reaches his 100 days as Pope
The Argentine former archbishop and now Pope, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, fulfilled tomorrow one hundred days since his enthronement as the main head of the Catholic Church.
Besides being the first Latin American pope, Bergoglio was the first to adopt the name of Francis and also being the first Jesuit Pope in history to assume the position of Holy Father of the Roman Catholic Church, in one of its most complicated moments.
However, Bergoglio, 76, has earned the people’s hearts with his simplicity, charisma and decisive character. Continuously, people are trying to find a similarity between him and St. Francis of Assisi, a saint who dedicated his life to the poor and lived as an austere.
Jorge Bergoglio loves tango and soccer. He is a fan of soccer team San Lorenzo de Almagro and is considered a man of dialogue, moderate and severe. Today he is determined to eradicate pedophilia, installed in the curia, and corruption that have tarnished the name of the Catholic institution for years.
Pope Francisco took office on March 13, 2013. On March 19 he opened his pontificate with a Mass attended by delegations from around the world.
