Francisco promises to serve with humility
Yesterday, during the beginning of his pontificate, Pope Francisco gave a message in favour of peace and tenderness, asserting that he will protect the poorest and will serve with humility a Catholic Church that currently faces many challenges.
The Supreme Pontiff said during the homily that real power lies within service. “The Pope, to exercise power (…) must put his eyes in humble service, concrete and rich in faith,”said the Pope.
The new Pope emphasized that love is one of the keys to that service. “We should not have fear of kindness, tenderness,” he said, followed by a standing ovation on the part of the parishioners, who he invited to not allow the signs of destruction and death to lead the world.
The austerity and spontaneity of Francisco demonstrated once again before starting the mass, when he toured the square in a white jeep, where he greeted with love and a smile the people gathered and the heads of State that were cited to this ceremony.
