Posted On 29 Apr 2011
Ecuadorian president, Rafael Correa, will decree Friday 6 May a holiday to easy the voting process for the referendum to be held on Saturday 7th of the month, said Friday the government house.
The measure seeks to ensure the transfer of citizens to sites which have to bear, sometimes outside of the jurisdictions where they live, said the president. This is because the electoral process will take place on Saturday (a non working day) and not on Sunday, as it is customary in the country where voting is mandatory, the government recalled.
