Reports from the Ecuadorian Police reveal that the network of pedophiles that operated in the Canoa parish, in Manabí, used dozens of minors for child pornography.

Children walk the streets of the Canoa parish, in San Vicente (Manabí).
Between 200 and 400 children from the Canoa parish, in the San Vicente canton, in the north center of Manabí, were violated by an international criminal network of pedophiles.
Police investigations reveal that of the violated minors, 70% are women and 30% are men.
Of the criminal structure, the Dutch Luijs Lesley Gerardus Servaas and Matheus Hendrick Uittenbogaar have already been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the crime of child pornography.
This network operated in different countries since 2018, but it arrived in Canoa in 2021. And it was not until 2022 when the foreigners were captured in a hotel in the Canoa spa.
According to investigations, in that part of the coastal province they recruited children and adolescents to obtain illegal material.
However, the network continued to operate from the El Rodeo prison in Portoviejo (Manabí), where the two foreigners were detained. After learning the news, the authorities transferred them to a prison in Guayas.
More than 500 files
Javier Granda, head of the Transnational Crime Investigation Unit, said last May that ” 13 investigative police officers have made their testimonial participation.”
They also handed over to the Judiciary more than 500 files of audiovisual material that link the defendants.
In addition, throughout this process they have had technical-scientific coordination with national and international police and civilian experts.
Granda adds that with all the expertise and evidence they have “clearly determined the participation of these people in the crime under investigation.”
The modus operandi of the Dutch consisted of approaching the parents of the children to offer them money, comforts and toys.
In addition, they ‘seduced’ families with children between the ages of eight and 12 to obtain images and market them.
This case has become relevant after the premiere of the film ‘Sound of Freedom’, which has been on the billboard in Ecuador since August 31.
This is the film that shows cases of sexual abuse against minors.
