Posted On 19 Jul 2011
Galo Chiriboga was sworn this morning as the new Attorney General by Fernando Cordero, President of the Ecuadorian National Assembly. The event was held in a General Commission and the procedure lasted few minutes.
Opposition parties left the place. Assemblywoman Lourdes Tibán, among others, who remained inside the room, turned their backs while he was being sworn in. The act was not considered on the agenda but was an attribution of the president of the National Assembly.
The event was held by Cordero in midst of session 105, which is the first debate of a bill in order to repeal the creation of Public Water and Sewer Utilities in districts of Manabi.
