Gay couple presented protective action

Posted On 14 Aug 2013

The lesbian couple formed by Pamela Troy and Gaby Correa, which seeks to achieve the equal civil marriage, filed a protective action before  the 3rd unit of Children and Adolescents of Pichincha.

The document rejects the refusal of the Civil Registry to accept the  civil marriage and requests  an interpretation of Article 67 of the Constitution that recognizes the family in its diferent types.

“We are not asking for a constitutional change or reform, but the respect of equal rights,” said Pamela.

Ramiro Garcia, legal representative of the couple said that if this action is not welcomed, they will appeal before all local bodies and even, if is necessary  to international ones.
