General Luis Castro says that the military did not have the complete custody of the electoral process

As a soldier of honor I acquiesce to the presidential will, however, I express my profound unease because these decisions affect the stability of the great Army.

He said he accepted the presidential decision of retiring. He urged the soldiers to continue providing security to the electoral process, in which the sacred will of the Ecuadorian people is respected. He said that his passion was always to serve the army and the country.

He asked them not to lower their heads and always serve their people, their homeland, and not to be seduced by corruption and never sell their conscience at any price.
