German couple discusses denouncing Galo Chiriboga

The German couple Edmund and Barbara Chladek, currently based in Spain, do not rule out joining as a plaintiff and claim their rights if a legal proceeding is initiated against ex-prosecutor Galo Chiriboga, who allegedly took a property under false pretenses. This was said yesterday by Guillermo Granda, friend and representative of the Chladek in Ecuador.
Granda was in the Office of the Prosecutor to give Cléver Jiménez information about the case.
Jiménez filed a complaint against Chiriboga on July 2 and yesterday arrived at the Prosecutor’s Office to acknowledge his signature and render a version.
“They are (the Chladek) satisfied because someone took the initiative and filed a complaint in this era of new authorities. The Chladek many times tried to file complaints and demands and it was not possible. There were always obstacles and manipulations on the part of the authorities. (…) They decided not to insist until there are better times where the situation is feasible and favorable, “said Granda.
Last week, the deputy prosecutor Ruth Palacios began a preliminary investigation into the crime of public action against Chiriboga and his wife.
The investigation was born with the denunciation of Jiménez, who relates facts related to the appropriation under deception that Chiriboga would have committed to keep a house of the Chladek, in Tumbaco.
According to the complaint, Madrigal Finance Corp. acquired the property in 1999 at a price that was not in accordance with reality.
“Chiriboga has committed several crimes in conspiracy of characters of Ecuadorian politics that will also have to be investigated. Hopefully as soon as possible these high officials, including notaries and more, are investigated and pay for those violations to a defenseless family, “said Jimenez.
Chiriboga indicated by telephone that he is preparing a document and that in the next few days he will issue a statement. (I)
