Government seeks to reduce the down payment to buy a home

Government authorities insist in launching the social housing program this year, the proposal is to reduce the percentage of the down payment to acquire houses of up to $ 65,000.
Ramiro Gonzalez, Minister of Industries, said that the amount is not defined, but the intention is to make it accessible. Currently, down payments may be up to 30% of the total value of the home.
Furthermore, Ministers González and Patricio Rivera, of Economic Policy, noted that the imposition of safeguards will not have a negative effect on the initiative of social housing because there is national production to meet the demand for inputs.
Rivera said he is also holding talks with the private financial system to improve the conditions of the mortgage.
