Grape and avocado farmers of Santa Elena exposed their needs to minister of Foreign Trade
Ecuadornews:
Grape and avocado growers from La Peninsula met with Foreign Trade Minister Pablo Campana, on Wednesday morning, in farms of El Azúcar commune, in the province of Santa Elena.
The objective was to learn more about the reality of the producers to evaluate production processes.
The official commented that grapes are a new export product for Ecuador but he highlighted the high productivity of Peru or Chile, countries that have a great advantage.
For example, Peru exports 646 million dollars in grapes to the United States and Europe, whilst our country only exports 318 thousand dollars.
He insisted on giving them the necessary support for the export of this type of products to generate more foreign exchange and create new sources of employment. (I)
