Herreria warns trial against Solines
After assemblyman Enrique Herreria requested once again the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE for its Spanish acronym) for the full information on the balances of the entity, the legislator warned he wont hesitate on presenting an impeachment against Banking Superintendent Pedro Solines, over his inaction of enforcing BCE chairman, Diego Martinez, to deliver the balance sheets of the financial situation of the country since November 2008.
“The BCE is in breach with this legal obligation and the Superintendent of Banks (Pedro Solines) does not perform the necessary oversight or sanctions for those responsible,” said Herreria.
It should be noted that Herreria asked Martinez 12 days ago for the data in question, based on the Basic Law of Monetary Regime and State Bank, which enforces the BCE to publish monthly figures for various financial indicators.
