Posted On 16 Jan 2012
Former Utah governor Jon Huntsman, 51, will drop out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination today. The news of this decision came the same day that Huntsman received the endorsement of The State, the newspaper in Columbia, S.C.
Matt David, a spokesman for Huntsman, told The New York Times that the republican will endorse candidate Mitt Romney. The former Utah governor has received little boost from his appearance in New Hampshire, the polls of most national and South Carolina placed him at the bottom.
According to the recent campaign-finance reports, Huntsman campaign had about $3,1 million in debts by the end of the September. (AV)
