On Monday, millions of Internet users whose computers are infected with DNSChanger could lose all access to the web, if their computers have not been debugged.
FBI announced it would close the servers were temporarily to protect users. This entity, together with consumer associations and surfers warned in time to prevent this from happening, but an estimated 200,000 users could still be infected.
In the past five years, a group of six Estonian criminals infected about 4 million computers around the world with the DNSChanger virus. The malware redirects Internet search users to fictitious sites infected with malicious ads that are profiting by the number of visits.
