Ecuadornews:

In September, the agency sent the reports of Judge Henry Cáliz to the Prosecutor’s Office, where there are high-end cars. He entered the Provincial Court of Pichincha in July 2018 and denounces a persecution against him.
“If you have an economic need, but you have a property and you want to sell it, we will buy it cash. We buy it for you in cash, “says the current judge of Pichincha, Henry Cáliz Ramos in a video that circulates on social networks. In this audiovisual product, which lasts 1 minute and three seconds, Cáliz -who is presented as the creator of Constructora Cáliz Barragán- instructs the interested parties how to receive this supposed benefit.
“First, share the publication so that more people find out, and, second, send me a WhatsApp to 0997952780 with the words Casa Cash,” says the native of Bolívar to those interested.
This video, as well as the publications of social networks, led the Financial Analysis Unit (UAFE) to investigate Cáliz. The alert about this judge was given by one of the subjects required by the UAFE to report. In the UAFE there are 13 sectors that are obliged to report, among them the financial system (banks), car dealerships, notaries, Superintendencies of Banks, Companies, etc.
Chalice entered the Provincial Court of Pichincha in July of this year when he won a protection action against the Judicial Council of Gustavo Jalkh. The UAFE investigated it for six months in the periods from 2012 to 2018. Therefore, in September of this year they sent the Prosecutor’s Office the Report of unusual and unjustified transactions or economic transactions, or attempts of unusual and unjustified transactions and economic transactions.
Not only were the unusual movements in the judge’s accounts investigated, but also two members of his family were included: his mother María Ernestina R. and his brother, Richart C. According to information from the UAFE to which El Telegrafo agreed, Chalice and his family nucleus would not have justified $ 1’882.147,22.
This company also includes the company Constructora y Ferretera Cáliz Barragán. The Superintendency of Companies states that the company was incorporated on January 9, 2008. In the stock tree are listed as representatives both Cáliz, with $ 10’050,000, and his brother Richart, with $ 350,000. In 2017, according to the Superintendency of Companies, current assets were $ 196,397.16.
While the non-current active total was $ 194,978.02. On the other hand, the total of liabilities registered in the Superintendency last year amounts to $ 323,167.94. In the report of the UAFE, the Construtora y Ferretera Cáliz Barragán has three vehicles, one of high range. This vehicle was purchased by the company in 2013 and cost, according to the UAFE documentation, $ 85,812. Supposedly it was canceled with two checks of $ 500 and $ 49,500 and the remaining $ 30,000 were financed.
There are also two more vehicles: one of $ 27,651, which was allegedly paid with two checks, and another of $ 29,998. Cáliz is judge since July Cáliz denied EL TELÉGRAFO that owns vehicles in his name. He noted that he arrives by bicycle to his place of work on the 12th floor of the Provincial Court of Pichincha.
However, on social networks such as Instagram, Cáliz publishes photographs of trips aboard allegedly convertible vehicles.
Even in the social networks of the companies, there is a publication that says: “Rent your convertible for only $ 50 an hour and $ 250 24 hours a day.” In the advertisement is the judge’s telephone number. Chalice pointed to El Telegrafo that those publications “are assembly” and that all this is part of a political persecution against him. However, on his personal Instagram account, Cáliz published on July 15: “Manteando ando”, together with a photo presumably on board a convertible car.
In 2008, this judge won a merit and opposition contest for fiscal agent. He is currently a professor of Law at the Faculty of Jurisprudence of the Central University. In the system of consultations of the Judiciary there are 15 processes against him, including food, divorce, moral damage, recusal, apprehension of vehicle, money, among others, from 2005 to 2018.
Judge argues persecution Chalice filed a complaint in the Prosecutor’s Office against Diana Salazar, director of the UAFE on December 14. He argued in his complaint that that entity sent the Prosecutor’s Office a report with the “purpose of falsely incriminating me in money laundering, probably with inaccurate or decontextualized information.”

There he placed his phone number that also appears in the advertisements. He justified that by ensuring that his number “is public.” He recalled that Salazar was close to ex-prosecutors Galo Chiriboga and Carlos Baca. Salazar, on his Twitter account, on the other hand, published on December 15: “We are exposed to that and much more, the important thing is not to be intimidated by wolves disguised as sheep. We will not stop to unveil those who use the public function as a means to enrich themselves.”
In the information of the UAFE, 35% of income of Cáliz are under dependency and 65% by other income. Chalice denied having that amount: $ 1’882.147, 22. He said that “neither gathering the patrimony of my family and of two generations would have that”. About Casa Cash said that for two years, by the law of goodwill, the construction company does not sell or buy homes. He said he only has one house in Monjas and another in Santa Rosa for $ 70,000 or $ 80,000. He also assured that the company has a Prius car. (I)
