Posted On 13 Jun 2011
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) informed of the spread of fake emails (hoax), in recent days.
The offense starts with an e-mail which asks to follow certain instructions, allegedly requested by the IRS, and then the recipients are recommended to follow an instruction manual in order to avoid a penalty. In addition, when you open the file, the taxpayer’s computer can be infected with malicious software (malware).
The IRS reminded taxpayers that all its services are for free and no calls or visits that may require some financial contribution shall be accepted.
