Journalist Marcelo Marchan a.k.a ‘Tomas del Pelo’ Passed Away

Marcelo Marchan Velez, a journalist from Guayaquil, Ecuador, known under the pseudonym Tomas del Pelo, and writer of El Universo newspaper, passed this morning at the age of 62 years.

Last Sunday, after 23:00 Merchan felt ill and soon was taken to the Kennedy clinic, where he died at 02:00 in the morning for respiratory arrest.

His fine and sharp journalistic mood addressed several themes, and found fertile ground in politics. It was an extraordinary creative; a mentalist and contest director and Mini Geniuses Geniuses of El Universo, like the almanacs published by the daily.

The body of Tomas del Pelo will be mourned today in the cematary ‘Parque de la Paz’. AV
