Guillermo Lasso, leader of the opposition party CREO, and who lost in last April’s run-off, said today that the suspension of vice president Jorge Glas “legitimizes” Lenin Moreno in his position of head of state.
“The restriction of functions to Glas legitimizes @Lenin in the position. Now it´s the turn of fundamental issues the country needs,” Lasso wrote on his Twitter account.
With the signing of a decree, Moreno withdrew today “all the functions” assigned to Glas, after the dispute between them and the criticism of the latter to his administration. (I)
