Ecuadornews:

The confrontation between President Lenin Moreno and his predecessor Rafael Correa regarding views on public indebtedness and the announcement of the fight against corruption heated up yesterday, amid the silence of the Alianza PAIS (AP) militancy.
Monday, Moreno reiterated his complaints about the excessive indebtedness he “inherited”: “We now know that not only too much money was wasted, but also they acquire a colossal debt. If we continue along the same path, we will mortgage the future of the country.”
And Moreno said that no action was taken with responsibility in respect of the debt and that from next year his government would need between $ 8,000 to $ 10 billion.
In his Twitter account, Correa refuted those claims with several messages. “A liar will never admit the truth, despite the forms, he will continue to be so,” he said. He even assured that the current government knew the economic figures and that maintains the same financial team.
The tension between the top leaders of AP alerted the legislators. This Journal tried to communicate with several legislators of AP, but they did not want to talk about the subject. Monday, the Legislature started its holiday period for 15 days. (I)
