Madrid is Already Living the World Youth Day

The World Youth Day (WYD) started today with Madrid already filled with tens of thousands of young pilgrims from around the world.
Until Sunday more than a million participants will meet together to wait for the visit of Benedict XVI, who arrives on Thursday to the Spanish capital. Until then, young people will be preparing themselves for the arrival with prayers, catechesis and other cultural and celebration events organized in Madrid.
At Plaza de Cibeles young people attended the opening Mass of World Youth Day, celebrated by the Cardinal Archbishop of Madrid, Antonio Maria Rouco Varela, accompanied by bishops and cardinals worldwide.
