Mario Monti was Sworn in as Prime Minister of Italy

The economist Mario Monti has been officially sworn in as prime minister of Italy.
President Giorgio Napolitano on Wednesday 16th November presided over the ceremony at the presidential palace hours after Monti form a new government focused on rescuing Italy from financial disaster.
The new premier promised to be faithful to the country, adhere to the Constitution and work for the interests of the nation.
The swearing-in ceremony formally ending three years and a half of the government of Silvio Berlusconi, and its political dominance of 17 years in Italy.
