Matias Oyola Close to Nationalized as an Ecuadorian
José Francisco Cevallos, the current sports minister, said last Sunday, February 5, that, Matias Oyola (the Argentinean player of Barcelona Sporting Club) “is ready to be registered as an Ecuadorian.”
However, to perform this procedure, it is necessary to modify the regulations of nationalization which will be decreed by the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa.
“(…) The President will reform the regulation that currently states: “Living in the country for 3 years and live in Ecuador for 2 years and have an Ecuadorian child,” pointed out Cevallos on his Twitter account and added: “It should be noted that Matias will be 3 years in June (living in the Ecuador). For that reason, the President will reform the regulations this week (to be only 2 years) as recorded in the Official Gazette and shall sign the nationalization.”
