In an interview with El Universo newspaper, Guayaquil Mayor Jaime Nebot explained his reasons to take to the streets. Nebot says it is a hoax the temporary withdrawal of Inheritance and Capital Gains bills by President Correa, who will submit them again. He said the situation has surpassed these laws, people are tired of so much abuse as the impacts on retirees pensions, the absorption of funds for teachers, the reduction of public sector wages, the safeguard measures that have increased the cost of living.

Nebot states that the laws not only affect a 2% and gives an example: “If a person sells cattle and if that profit, after tax deductions reachs, for example, $ 28,500, the state takes $ 15,000. If the gain is $ 98,500, the state takes $ 67,000.

He proposes that the best plan for the distribution of wealth is to generate employment. “For that, the private enterprise must receive confidence, legal certainty. For that, the state must be managed, which also creates jobs, with wisdom, with tranquility, spending little and returning a lot in works and services … ”

He also hopes that with this march Guayaquil and Ecuador are respected in essence: the future of the family and the right to thrive.
