Messi paid €10 million to the Treasury

Argentine star Lionel Messi would have paid in recent days about 10 million euros ($13.33 million) in additional personal income tax returns for his image rights for the fiscal years of 2010 and 2011.

The football player made a voluntary payment after a court in Gava (Barcelona) imputed him and his father on June 12 for an alleged fraud of more than four million euros to the tax agency between 2006 and 2009 for his image rights.

In its early issue of Monday, the newspaper La Vanguardia reported that Leo has already paid 10 million euros in taxes for image rights for the years of  2010 and 2011.
