Mindeporte gives the COE 48 hours to submit COAR
Danilo Carrera, lead manager of the Ecuadorian Olympic Committee (COE for its Spanish acronym), sent a communication to the President of the Republic, Rafael Correa requesting the cease of the persecution carried out by the Ministry of Sport to the COE and the Centre of High Excellence (COAR for its Spanish acronym).
The Minister of Sport, Jose Francisco Cevallos, informed the COE that they have 48 hours to deliver the COAR along with courts, complementary buildings, furniture and accessories.
Carrera refuses to comply with the provision sent by the Mindeporte as it ensures that the COE has a 25-year trust.

Danilo Carrera qualifies Mindeporte’s provision as “an attempt to nationalize the sport.”
“We have an agreement for 25 years (to manage the COAR) and we must respect it as far as possible, and if they want us out, get us out, but with due process.”
