Ecuadornews:

For the seventh consecutive year, the Institute for the Promotion of Exports and Investments (Pro Ecuador) held the “Aromas del Ecuador 2017” business conference in Guayaquil. 75 Ecuadorian exporters representing the coffee, cocoa and chocolate sectors, and more than 30 buyers from 12 countries attended the event.
This conference is held within the framework of the Fifth World Cocoa Summit, which will be opened today at 19:00 at the Simon Bolivar Convention Center. The executive director of ProEcuador Roberto Intriago mentioned that in previous editions of “Aromas del Ecuador,” business expectations for $ 76.9 million were reached.
“In the last edition (2016) we sold $ 15.1 million, and we expect to generate $ 16.5 million this year, that is, a 9% growth over the previous year,” said Intriago, after announcing that approximately 218 business appointments are scheduled for today. For Washington Cevallos, sales manager of the “Aromas del Yasuní” brand, this year they have high expectations. “Our idea is not just to stay here but to be known at an international level,” said Cevallos.
