Reports from the liquidator of the Territorial Bank, the process of returning to the depositors of the financial institution with values less than $ 31,000 continues, and in a statement by the Superintendence of Banks and Insurances (SBS) it was reported that “until today, a total amount of $ 50,176,628 has been paid to depositors “. The value corresponds to 92% of the total amount provided for refunds to former customers of the financial institution.

The document from the SBS also establishes the order of priority to be applied, in relation to liens held at the bank in liquidation.

  • First place: payment of deposits up to the amount legally secured ($ 31,000).
  • Second place: the amounts owed to the former employees of the institution, corresponding to compensation, salaries, retirement pensions, utilities and reserve funds.
  • Third Place: payments of deposits over the insured value, which will be paid in order of former customers in priority groups such as children, adolescents, pregnant women, people with disabilities, among others.

The deadline for the payment of amounts under the insured value shall be enforced until May 31, after that, depositors who did not withdraw their money, must go directly to the Deposits Insurance Corporation (COSEDE) up to a period of 10 years.
