Morsi Vows to Uphold Egypt Court Rulings

Mohammed Morsi seeks to solve the Parliament issue
Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi said he will negotiate with political forces and judicial authorities to resolve the issues with the parliament.
“There will be consultations among all political forces, institutions and the supreme council of judicial authorities to find the best way out of this situation in order to overcome this stage together,” stated Morsi through Egypt’s official news agency.
The past week, Morsi issued an order that reinstated the parliament against the Supreme Military Council decision to disband it. Morsi’s decree was celebrated by supporters who believed the court’s decision to disband the parliament was political.
The country’s interim constitution, drafted by military generals who assumed the leadership of the country after the fall of Hosni Mubarak, issued the order that dissolved the parliament. (AV)
