NASA Reveals New Rocket Design
This Wednesday NASA revealed a colossal rocket that will be the backbone for exploring the solar system of the coming decades. The rocket will more powerful since the Saturn V that took the Americans to the moon four decades ago.
NASA expects that this ship will take astronauts on deep-space missions farther than anyone has ever traveled. The first unmanned test flight of the first iteration of the rocket will fly out of the Earth orbit around the year 2017. The cost of the production of the rocket will be of $10 billion over the next five years. The crew capsule of the astronauts will cost $6 billion.
NASA has to finish out the details of how it could use the new rocket, and the launching schedule will depend on future budgets. The space agency believes that with a $62 billion budget it could make to missions a year, which would allow to start pieces, like a deep-space habitat. (AV)
