National Brewery Has Until Midnight to Cancel its Debt
After the period of 48 hours set last Friday by the ruling expired in favor of former National Brewing of Ecuador (CN in Spanish) workers, the company must pay until this midnight more than 90 million for unpaid utilities, according to the ruling of the third Criminal Division of Guayas.
Robert Guevara Elizalde, chairman of the Board, announced last week that the exact amount to be paid is $ 90’929.135 at the time stated, otherwise interest will start to sum in the amount as a fine. The value must be deposited into the court of first instance.
Former CN workers held a picket line in the basement of the courthouse, downtown Guayaquil, starting at 09:00, to ensure the compliance of the ruling.
Meanwhile, dozens of employees of the company yesterday gathered at La Carolina Park (Quito) to express their rejection of the warrant.
