New Chairman for Ecuadorian Higher Education

Rene Ramirez, besides being Senplades and Senescyt chairman, was sworn yesterday as the new Ecuadorian Chairman of Higher Education, body in charge for the administering policies and regulation of the country’s university system.
Ramirez, who represents the Executive, was elected by votes of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Production and the Senplades.
Once possessed, Ramirez held a press conference where he pledged to end the state of deregulation in the campus. The first item on his agenda involves the review and approval of the statutes of some 70 institutions of higher education.
