New Date for Cassation Hearing of El Universo

This afternoon, the Criminal Guarantees Chamber of the National Court of Justice (CNJ) decided to call for cassation hearing of the EL UNIVERSO case, on Wednesday February 15, at 09:00 (GMT).
Through a press conference, the defense of that environment rejected the ruling issued by Judges Wilson Merino, Jorge Iniguez and Paul Blum, who will analyze the cause.
Joffre Campaña, judicial attorney of EL UNIVERSO, said that the speed of the judges decision to set the hearing obeys the statement issued by the Ecuadorian president after the hearing and announced that he will submit a request to revoke the order issued today.
About the raffle of the judges, Campaña pointed out that according to the Code of Judicial Function, the raffles must be public.
