New Eviction of an Ecuadorian Family in Spain
A violent eviction of an Ecuadorian family left 20 arrested and several injured after clashes between activists of the The Outraged movement and police officers.
The Outraged movement groups citizens dissatisfied with the situation in Spain, with emphasis on economic issues.
After more than three hours of clashes, riot police teams entered the fourth floor of the building where the Ecuadorian Jorge Cordero, his wife and daughter (5 months old) lived.
Inside the apartment police arrested Cordero and 17 others who tried to stop the eviction. Two more were immobilized on the street.
Mortgages affected people reported that evictions multiply in the country against thousands of people that became unemployed over the crisis, and could not meet payments on their mortgages. (MZ)
