New Taxes in Greece Cause More Riots

Workers of PPC, Greece’s largest power company clashed with riot policemen during their protests against a new property tax in Athens. Members of PPC are now tasked with collecting a tax through Greeks’ electricity bills.
Police officers from Athens informed that 15 arrests were made. Union members vowed to fight austerity measures with the country’s international creditors.
The new government continues to negotiate the details of a second bailout worth one hundred and thirty billion euros. (AV)
