Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic became yesterday, champion of the Australia Open for the third consecutive time, after beating Andy Murray 6-7 (2), 7-6 (3), 6-3, 6-2.

With this victory, Djokovic, world number one, becomes the first man to win three consecutive crowns in Melbourne, since the tournament adopted the open mode.

“I love this court, it’s definitely my favorite rand Slam. It feels amazing to win this trophy one more time”, said serbian player.

Djokovic 25 years, is the king of Australia, where he has not lost has not lost a game since the quarterfinals in 2010 when he faced Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (6-7 7-6 6-1 3-6 6-1). Serbian tennis player sums six Grand Slam titles, missing only the Roland Garros.

The day before, in the ladies’ final, Victoria Azarenka won the tournament after beating Chinese Li Na.
