Online shopping reaches its peak at Christmas time
Buying from home or the office, whether with a credit card or in cash (upon delivery) are the conveniences sought by some consumers, especially in this Christmas season, when companies dedicated to this activity reach their peak.
A partial result was Cyber Monday, which was boosted by the Chamber of Commerce of Guayaquil and took place on Monday 30 November, and the 1st and 2nd of this month. Such deals online, organizers say, exceeded expectations by generating 113,000 visits on the websites of the 23 participating companies.
In 2014 this e-commerce trend generated approximately $ 540 million and the Chamber expects to surpass the figure until the end of the year.
However, Ecuador is still a young market for purchases on-line in the view of Jose Saenz, general manager of linio.com.ec, one of the participating companies of Cyber Monday, which with an investment of $ 500,000 established nine months ago in the country, employing 25 people.
