Países del Pacífico realizarán simulacro de tsunami
As a preventive measure to a tsunami warning, the Intergovernmental Coordination Group for the Tsunami Warning System and Mitigation in the Pacific (ICG / PTWs) will conduct a drill to measure the responsiveness of thirty-nine countries in the event of a tsunami.
In this simulation, called “PacWave 13”, it will be tested new forecasting tools of this type of phenomena and giant waves, based on observation and adapted to help countries improve their reactivity.
It is expected that this new system will help to better determine the alerts, and provide fast data to prevent efficiently a tsunami in a local level.
