Pedro Delgado has an extradition request
The investigating criminal judge, Vicente Robalino, called for an extradition order for the former Central Bank President Pedro Delgado Campana, who is also cousin of the regime leader, Rafael Correa. The request was made yesterday at 15:10.
The order of Robalino was included in the case number 0209/2013/VR, which follows the prosecution against Delgado for fraudulent use of false documents, by which charges were filed but there was not an preventive order.
Pedro Delgado, allegedly left the country on December 19, 2012, under the pretext of going to the wedding of his son in Miami.
Delgado’s departure occurred after admitting that he cheated to get his degree in economics, with which he exercised his duties as President of the Central Bank and Director of AGD-CFN Trust No more impunity. Delgado is now in the United States carrying out a request for political asylum.
