Police arrested alleged murderer of Monica Spear

Venezuelan authorities announced today that they have identified the alleged perpetrator of the murder of model and actress Monica Spear and her husband, Thomas Henry Berry.

José Gregorio Sierralta, director of the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations (CICPC,) accused Jean Carlos Colina, 19, as responsible for the killing; confirmed the theft as a motive for the double murder. Colina is accused of having fired seven times against the grey Toyota Corolla car carrying the couple and their daughter.

The agents say they have found Spear’s camera of in the house of one of the assailants. Sierralta said that other six detainees were brought to the order of the public prosecutor’s Office. Two of them are minors.

Moreover, until last Wednesday, the couple’s daughter, injured in the incident, still unknown the murder of her parents. According to sources in the hospital where she was admitted, the child arrived shocked and asking for her parents and ensuring that “they were asleep in the car.”

The 5 years old girl , was taken to a medical center in Caracas, here she was cared for fracture of the right tibia, caused by the bullet impact which could not be removed. She was discharged on Wednesday.
