Police arrested citizen who threatened to kill President Correa
Ecuador’s Interior Minister, José Serrano, announced today the arrest of Javier Genovez citizen, accused of threatening to kill the president, through his twitter account on the network.
Serrano, told the Presidential news portal El Ciudadano Newspaper (The Citizen), said the detainee is 44 years old and hails from the city of Cuenca (south).
On Saturday, Correa himself, in his regular weekly broadcast report revealed the threats and said that one of the messages said: “Ave MashiRafael (the name of the president’s twitter account), greetings from the ones that are going to kill you“.
This “was not the only tweet (message) sent threatening the Ecuadorian President, but it also was identified a number of mixed messages with other people, threatening messages on the President’s life,” said Serrano in El Ciudadano Newspaper.
